“We highly recommend ‘The Cosplayer’ as the definitive pictorial of cosplay in Japan.”

Review of “The Cosplayer”:

We highly recommend “The Cosplayer” as the definitive pictorial of cosplay in Japan.  This is an excellent picture book, with a variety of costumes AND cosplayers illustrated.  If you cannot make it to the Comiket, this is the next best thing.  Manga, game characters, shock rock and so much more!  Full body images and personal data is provided for each cosplayer.  Yes, you can actually SEE the costumes and their details!  We were impressed with the quality of the images and range of costuming experience.  There are purchased, piecemealed and handmade costumes displayed.  Men, women and children, as well as different body types are represented.  It was refreshing to see more than one dress size depicted.  Celebrity cosplayers, including Barbie Tukino, Kaie Tada and Rina-P demonstrate their grace and costuming skills.

Basara couple and Card Captor Sakura cuties.

Sera Myu and Vega from Street Fighter.

This book is an important resource for costumers and fans alike.  If you want to see the true spirit and magic of cosplay - get your hands on this book!
