Review of Cosplay:
Stumbled across this interesting mook at Kinokuniya Bookstore, that quickly sold out in less than a week. Presented by Cutie Magazine in a thick "telephone book-style" format. Less than half the mook is in color. An excellent resource, with over 400 cosplayer images (well photographed with detail shots) and interviews. A wide variety of costumes documented on both male and female cosplayers. Good full-length photographs, with costume detail shots. Many popular anime, manga and video game characters depicted: Neon Genesis Evangelion, Martian Successor Nadesico, Sailor Moon, Card Captor Sakura, Vampire Hunter D, Slayers, Street Fighter, Samurai Spirits, King of Fighters, Resident Evil, etc. We also noticed characters from popular Tokusatu shows and television commercials. Celebrity cosplayers Luke and Michiru are featured in a costume contest, Bishamon-Ten. A pretty image of Barbie Tukino as Eternal Sailor Moon inside as well. There is a special Visual Kei section, that includes X Japan, Malice Mizer, L'Arc~en~Ciel and Shazna cosplay. This mook also contains manga, shopping directories and event listings. A step-by-step guide on how to take measurements, pattern and make a Card Captor Sakura costume. Special Malice Mizer cosplay section and pull out poster! We highly recommend "Cosplay" for the quality and high quality of cosplayers depicted.
